President’s Update Winter 2024
Dear Umpqua Watersheds Family,
We have a lot to talk about! We certainly appreciate your support over the years and want to assure you that what you have done for this local conservation organization has translated into many accomplishments. We are here because of you! Now for the bad news. We are under no illusion that it will be easy in the coming years. The road has now become full of obstacles as of November 5th. We have much more that we want to accomplish, and focusing on our community and our local environment is one of our goals. Individuals can make a difference in their community by fighting for things they deem important. Here, in our Umpqua Valley, we cherish the natural world and have not given up on continuing to protect it, and neither should you. The odds may be against us, but we can still be a force. It is going to take everyone to give, even a little bit helps. If you enjoy some aspect of what we do at Umpqua Watersheds, the newsletter, the radio station, the efforts to combat timber sales, the community events, protecting our native fisheries and wildlife, or the educational activities and hikes, please consider renewing your membership. Tell us that you value our work and commitment to making the Umpqua Watershed a quality place to live by sending in a few dollars. I can’t imagine our community without Umpqua Watersheds. We live here as well and understand the stakes. Please help us to overcome the obstacles to conservation.
