We are offering opportunities for kids to have their voices heard on our Living Downstream show. Youths ages 8-18 years old are invited to submit 1-3 minute audio recordings for either or both of the following options. Entries can take the form of poems, essays, stories, songs, raps, or something else – we’re excited to see how creative they can be!

Sense of Place

Youths can share what they love about where they live.

Send submissions to ryan@umpquawatersheds.org with “Youth Entry – Sense of Place” in the subject line. (Be sure to fill out the permission slip to the right and attach it to your email.)

Making Positive Change

Youths can share what positive change they’d make in their community if given the power to do so.

Send submissions to ryan@umpquawatersheds.org with “Youth Entry – Making Positive Change” in the subject line. (Be sure to fill out the permission slip to the left and attach it to your email.)

Co-Hosting a Show

Perhaps your teen is feeling a bit more ambitious. We’re looking for 13-18 year olds who enjoy creative writing, singing, playing an instrument, storytelling, or sharing information with a larger audience to contribute to a youth show. Reach out to the AmeriCorps member serving as our Environmental Education & Outreach Leader (ryan@umpquawatersheds.org) if your child or grandchild might be interested in co-hosting their own show!
