Hello Folks and mark your calendar for our River Appreciation Day on July 20th at Whistler’s Bend Park.  There is a $4 daily parking fee.  If you are going to camp, remember to bring cash, and we ask a small donation for the reserved camping area that we have reserved. Group Camp site C. Come enjoy the river with your family and friends.

There is a river clean-up day happening on the North Umpqua. Umpqua Watersheds is kindly asking people to help clean up the Swifter Park area on Saturday, June 29th from 9am-12pm.  This is a community event, and everyone is more than welcome to came to help keep our river clean.  For more information please contact Brian at 541-530-6782.

If anyone is interested in the Black Petaltail dragonfly project for this Summer, Matt Hunter has a blog post that introduces the dragonfly and its habitats as well as the general plan for this summer’s efforts.  There is also a signup form for those interested in keeping in the loop.

Final our annual silent auction and banquet was a great success as we attempted to bring in the youth to our event.  Many people approached me to express their joy at seeing a younger audience present to hear our guest speaker, Jacob Lebel.  The ‘Climate Kids’ courtroom battle heats up this week on June 4th in Portland when a three-judge panel from the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear the case arguments.  A granted injunction could immediately halt 100 drilling and pipeline developments poised for permits from the feds.
