River Appreciation Day change in Venue

Published July 11th, 2021 in Outreach, UW Blogs
Because of the Jack Fire burning near the North Umpqua River, our original site for River Appreciation Day 2021, Steamboat Ball Field, has been set up as a fire camp and will not be available.  Therefore, we will gather instead at 1:00pm Saturday July 17 at Whistler’s Bend Park Day Use Area near the river where we have held the event several times in the past.  And instead of a full amplified stage with featured acts, we are asking any of our members and friends who are musicians to bring their instruments for a River Appreciation Day Song Circle!  We will circle our lawn chairs and take turns performing songs and leading sing-alongs with everyone encouraged to participate.  We will also do a drum circle in memory of David Parker, long-time Umpqua Watersheds member and drummer extraordinaire, so bring something to bang on!
