Outreach Update Summer 2025
Umpqua Forever, Now More Than Ever!
We invite you to gather with us in celebration, reflection, and recommitment at the Umpqua Watersheds 30th Anniversary Annual Banquet. Join us on Sunday, June 29th from 3:00–7:00 PM in the Umpqua Outback, the welcoming outdoor space behind our office at 539 SE Main Street in Roseburg.
This year’s theme, “Umpqua Forever, Now More Than Ever,” captures the essence of our work—past, present, and future. For three decades, Umpqua Watersheds has been a voice for wild rivers, ancient forests, and thriving communities. Together, we’ve accomplished much: preserving wilderness, engaging youth in environmental education, building bridges across generations, and advocating for policies that protect our home. Yet, as we look ahead to the next 30 years, we recognize the challenges and opportunities that lie before us—and we know the time to act is now.
Our banquet will honor the past with stories, memories, and a heartfelt tribute to the many hands that built this organization. Past AmeriCorps members, founding volunteers, and long-time supporters will be recognized, and we’ll hear inspiring words from our community leaders and youth—the voices who will carry the work forward.
We’ll also share a visual journey through the years with a photo display highlighting milestones from our earliest grassroots days to today’s vibrant programs, reminding us all of the power of persistence and love for this place we call home.
And of course, we’ll celebrate with music, laughter, and a festive dinner by Festive Catering, featuring:
• Mexican-style roasted veggies
• Salsa chicken
• Shrimp with peppers and onions
• Mexican pinto beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, sour cream, guacamole
• Appetizers of chips with pico de gallo and a corn, black bean, and tomato dip.
Tickets are $35, available at the Umpqua Watersheds office or online at https://tinyurl.com/UW-Annual-Banquet-2025
We’re also seeking donations to help cover ticket costs for former AmeriCorps members and community members on limited incomes, ensuring that all who wish to attend can do so. Any remaining funds from these contributions will support our Environmental Education program, continuing the vital work of nurturing the next generation of watershed stewards.
As one past AmeriCorps member shared:
“Being part of Umpqua Watersheds taught me the value of community—how we can come together, no matter the challenges, to make a difference. I carry that with me every day.”
In the spirit of our theme, we extend this heartfelt invitation:
Now more than ever, we need to gather together to honor our past, embrace our present, and shape the future of the Umpqua we love. Please join us.
Together, we are Umpqua Forever.
