KQUA Update Spring 2025
By John Dyer
To say that 2025 has
started off with a
gallop is an
understatement,
and here’s wishing
everyone peace,
safety, and
prosperity as we ride
along. Our most
critical Radio
Committee news
has already been
covered in other
articles, so we will
briefly touch on
goals and projects in the new year. Pictured above
is the new site on Scott Mountain for our larger
antenna that will be able to reach a much wider
audience than just the city of Roseburg. With this
broader outreach comes greater responsibility on
multiple fronts, including a heightened need for
marketing and fundraising. We will keep everyone
posted as we embark on these efforts.
Ongoing outreach includes a possible partnership
with Rosebud Theatre and a weekly radio
showcase of local music. We are in talks with
community members about creating radio
programs focusing on local events that all citizens
should be aware of, along with information on how
they can get involved. We are also in
communication with colleagues at Umpqua
Community College, and we hope to begin a focus
on newsgathering, which could result in weekly
programming of local news highlights. These are
all ongoing
efforts, and we
will keep you
apprised as they
develop. Here
