Twin Lakes Hike with Chandra of Oregon WIld

General Location of hike: Umpqua National Forest, off North Umpqua Highway
Meeting location: Roseburg Library

Estimated time of departure and return from meeting location: 8am – 6pm

Max attendance: 15

Brief Description: Hike through meadows and ancient forests recovering from a recent fire to reach two spectacular lakes.

Difficulty: Moderate

Distance (round trip/total): 5.6 miles (with option to not go as far)

Elevation Gain: 800 feet

Longer Description: Twin Lakes are nestled in the heart of the large roadless area included in the proposed Crater Lake Wilderness south of the North Umpqua River. The area offers a sampling of the best of the region: spectacular wildflower meadows, old-growth trees, mountain views, and ancient forests recovering from a 2017 fire.
