MLK Day of Park Restoration and Cleanup!
January 20 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Please come together for the Martin Luther King Day of Service! January 20 from 9:00-1:00 in Roseburg.
Join us for a special day dedicated to giving back to the incredible parks that make our town so unique. Together, we’ll tackle important restoration tasks like cleaning up litter, removing graffiti, controlling invasive species, replacing mulch, and sprucing up landscaping to restore the natural charm of these shared spaces. This isn’t just about cleaning up—it’s about reinvigorating the spirit of the parks, making them more welcoming for wildlife and visitors alike. What’s more, it’s part of the Thrive Umpqua Well-Being Challenge that invites individuals in the Umpqua Valley to embrace healthier, more fulfilling lifestyles, with the added benefit of enriching our environment!
Whether it’s picking up a paintbrush to erase graffiti, managing invasive species, picking up trash, or simply spreading fresh mulch, every small act of love contributes to a bigger impact. By coming together as a community of respect of MLK and our community, we’ll transform the parks into even more vibrant spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Join us January 20 from 9:00-1:00! We’ll meet at Stewart Park at 9:00 am for a welcome, light refreshments, and logistic/directions from Umpqua Watersheds, Thrive Umpqua, and the Roseburg Dept of Parks and Rec. Supplies and tools are provided. Just bring your love and smiles!
