2 Position Openings for AmeriCorps Service

Member Duties for Environmental Education and Outreach Coordinator for Umpqua Watersheds: Teach existing curricula and education programs in partnering schools and organizations. Refine and update curricula, educational materials, and teaching tools in forest stewardship, environmental science, and natural resources Coordinate and produce Living Downstream Radio show for Umpqua Watersheds’ KQUA radio station. Outreach to new schools and organizations for new educational partnerships. Attending and assist in facilitating monthly Education Committee Meetings Attending monthly Board of Directors Meetings to provide update on AmeriCorps activities and Programs Update UW website and FB pages with information on Education events and activities Maintain a bi-weekly Environmental Education Blog on UW website Assist in Volunteer recruitment, training and management as it relates to Education and fundraising initiatives Raise funds through donation requests and small grants to support the education programs.

Member Duties for Outreach Coordinator for Umpqua Valley Audubon Society : Develop transferable educational materials for use in and with partnering schools and organizations. Assist in and improve re-occurring UVAS programs and activities. Develop volunteer recruitment outreach materials. Assist in volunteer recruitment. Learn programs and activities of current and past partnering organizations and suggest new synergies. Develop relationships and synergies with new community partners. Attend monthly Board of Director meetings to provide updates on AmeriCorps activities and programs. Provide updates, improvements, and enhancements to UVAS existing social media platforms.
